Course Description

Are you planning a trip to Italy? The following course is designed as both an introduction to the Italian language and as a primer for those whose only interest is being able to get around Italy on a formal or simple, self-guided tour. This course will cover Italian pronunciation, use of verbs in the present tense that are useful for visiting major sites, an introduction to Italian history and culture, and a look at the connection between Italy and countries in the New World--with special emphasis on the impact Italians have had on U.S. history and culture.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will have gained a well-rounded introduction to the Italian language sure to enrich any future trip to Italy.

Notes

Suggested Textbook (Not Required): Italian in 10 Minutes a Day by Kristine K. Kershul.

Certificates of Completion: Students will be able to generate and print a certificate of completion for the course, through their personal portal, upon satisfactory completion of the class.
