DMV-3129AO - Automotive Inspection: On Board Diagnostics II
Course Description
Are you, or do you wish to be, an auto technician? If so, you will need to be OBD II certified! Then again, you may already be and are simply looking to be recertified. In either case, this is the class you are looking for. All vehicles newer than 1995 must have an annual OBD II inspection, and this course will teach you everything you need to know to properly and professionally perform one. This course is offered, and can be completed, as a one 8-hour or two 4-hour class (See specific section details for times).
***Important: The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will do a background check before any certification becomes official. Prior to registering for this course, students should check with their local DMV if they are concerned anything in their record could potentially void their certification.
Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have their LT-310 certification form*♦ sent to the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) so they may be registered into and use the computerized inspection system.
*Students Currently Employed by a Station: The DMV requires that the LT-310 form be signed by both the technician and either the owner, partner, or an officer of the employing station. If the LT-310 is not signed by both parties at the time of class, a separate LT-310 form will need to be completed and mailed back to Forsyth Tech (name/address information to be provided in class) before it can be submitted to the DMV.
♦Students NOT Currently Employed by a Station: The LT-310 form will be held by the DMV until a second LT-310 form is submitted by an employing station.
Notes
Valid North Carolina Driver's License (Required): Students must posses a valid North Carolina driver's license prior to registering for this class.
